Coral Rockks - May 3 2025
- in honour of the 50th Anniversary of Monty Pythons and The Holy Grail.
Special Guest From The Great Beyond – Late Monty Python member Graham Chapman and segments from the wide-ranging chat that I did with Graham in Waterloo in October 1986 when Graham was here in Canada for his Brown Trousers Tour.
Then a few months later I chatted with Graham again in Toronto after my article “Life After Python” was published in Graffiti Magazine. He was performing at Ryerson.
My other special “live” guest is photographer Lorne Elliott who was with me at both interviews. This particular chat is the second part of the interview conducted at Sutton Place Hotel after Graham did his show at Ryerson. It runs the gamut from how Graham met David Bowie who got a part in his film “Yellowbeard” in Ibiza to Python's obsession with credits.
Lorne also asked Graham some questions, and Graham's adopted son / tour manager John Tomiczek was there as well. I also have the first part of the interview which I did at CKCO TV in front of a live audience which I hope to air as well. In both interviews I asked Graham a lot of nerdy Monty Python fan questions. Parts of this interview (with photography by Lorne Elliott) appeared in The Waterloo Chronicle. Guelph's Passion Magazine and also Toronto's Graffiti Magazine.
And some of the chat, especially in Toronto, in the wee hours was never recorded – we were four people in conversation which lasted till dawn.
This remains my favorite interview of all time. With enormous thanks to my good friend the late Marlon Kempmann for taking the cassette interview and transferring it into a CD.
Music – Monty Python Sings – Spam, Galaxy Song, Knights of the Round Table, Eric The Half a Bee. Also - The Rutles, Bonzo Dog Band and O.M.D
Coral Rockks – Little Chats, Lotsa Music and &^%$# Coffee Espresso and Hazel Nut! Spam, Spam, Spam, PFFFFFT!
